Hello

This week I wanted to share something that feels genuinely significant.

An article Dr John Mervyn-Smith and I have co-written which has just been published in Developing Leaders Quarterly titled: From Drive to Impact: Energizing Leadership in Teams

For those of you who know Dr. John’s work, you will understand the depth and rigour he brings to the psychology of leadership. To see our shared thinking published in this journal matters. Not for visibility or personal recognition (we are probably too understated for our own good) but for what it represents.

For decades, leadership psychology has focused on personality, traits and hierarchy.

In this article we take the conversation further, about what truly drives people.

Human beings are not short of drive, drive is infinite.

The real question is: Where is that Human Energy for Impact being channelled?

This is where The GC Index is progressing our understanding of the psychology of Human Energy.

The GC Index is not a passing idea or a derivative of what has gone before it. It is grounded in over 14 years of original research, scientific rigour and real-world application, supported by serious psychological thinking and published works.

This article reflects that maturity. It marks a shift from personality to contribution.
From hierarchy to dynamic leadership and most notably from Drive to Impact.

You can access a web copy of the article via this link - From Drive to Impact - Developing Leaders Quarterly

For GCologists and GC Partners you can access a PDF version here in your GC Platform account.

For more information about Developing Leaders Quarterly you can explore via their website here

Quite simply, organisations that understand how to harness human energy intelligently in this 4th Industrial Revolution will move forwards and thrive. Those that do not will increasingly struggle in a rapidly changing world of work.

Dr John and I hope you enjoy the article, please do share the article with those Clients and Colleagues who care about being at the forefront of leadership development.

Thank you as ever for being on this journey with us.

Do good and be great.

Nathan
