Hello

This GCI Friday marks a landmark moment in our journey.

The release of the definitive GC Index® book!

Written by Dr. John Mervyn-Smith, Co-Creator of The GC Index®, and brought to life with contributions from 15 expert GCologists from the USA, Europe, and South Africa, this book is the most comprehensive exploration yet of the GC Index system and the science behind Energy for Impact.

At its heart is a simple but powerful truth:

People contribute in fundamentally different, but equally valuable, ways.

Across 16 chapters, you’ll find practical tools, case studies, and fresh thinking on:

  • The psychology of energy in work and leadership
  • The unique ways individuals and teams make an impact
  • Strategies for building high-performance, impact-led organisations
  • Applications across coaching, OD, wellbeing, and education

Built on over 12 years of research, already cited in 18 influential publications, and grounded in global practice, The GC Index isn’t just theory.

It’s the future of leadership and organisational development in action.

Dr. John Mervyn-Smith writes:

“Human beings are hardwired to adapt, to survive and, ideally, to thrive. For over a century, psychologists have explored how human energy manifests and drives behaviour.

This book takes that exploration further, offering a rigorous understanding of how individuals uniquely channel their 'Energy for impact'.

Whether you're a contributor, colleague, manager or leader, it will help you recognise, harness, and direct your energy in ways that enable you, and others, to truly thrive.”
