Hello

This week I just wanted to share a new 5 minute training video that I have put together following requests from a number of GCologists going through accreditation and reaccreditation.

The focus is on the Play Maker and, in particular, the Play Maker sustained energy for building a shared agenda.

We would arguably say that the Play Maker is one of the biggest discoveries and developments in The GC Index story so far. It has given organisations, leaders and teams real tangible data on how individuals can genuinely lead through people.

Historically, people focussed leadership has relied heavily on understanding personality, learned behaviours, emotional intelligence, etc. Helpful at times, yes, but often lacking the concrete data and language that enable leaders to understand who truly has the energy to lead through people and how impactful collaboration actually works within teams and cultures.

The Play Maker proclivity changes that. It gives organisations a tangible language, an accessible framework and real data about those who have the energy to create cohesion and drive impactful collaboration.

It helps us understand not only how people lead through people (or not), but also where collaboration may thrive or struggle across a team.

A while back, Dr John and I created a visual to help people understand Play Makers better. It grew out of the same questions that come up time and time again.

"I am a people person, so why do I have a low Play Maker score."

Or...

"That person is really introverted, so how do they have a high Play Maker score."

...and so on...

The above image attempts to explain the difference between a Play Maker energy for building a shared agenda and the people agendas that are often driven by the other proclivities.

We use this visual regularly in accreditation and reaccreditation sessions. Over the last few weeks a number of you have asked for a short video version of the explanation I give when walking through the image.

So below I have recorded a five minute overview which many have already found helpful. I hope you do too.

We are constantly learning about all GC Index proclivities and none more so than the Play Maker.

As always, we are keen to learn with you as you apply this in your practice and share your experiences.

Do good and be great, as ever.

Nathan
