Hello

This week there are two important GC Research areas I wanted to bring to your attention.

  • The first is an upcoming session exploring the relationship between Neurodiversity and The GC Index.

  • The second is the next phase of our ongoing research with King's College London into Leadership, Burnout and Human Energy for Impact.

Neurodiversity and The GC Index

As many of you will have seen me share previously in GCI Friday, Dr John Mervyn-Smith has now released his second book, The Psychology and Dynamics of Human Energy – How Understanding Your Energy Can Transform Your World.

Where Dr John's first book explored how aligning Energy for Impact can transform the workplace, this second book broadens the lens into everyday life. It looks at how we channel our energy across relationships, families, groups and wider life experiences and how greater self-awareness can help us both survive and thrive.

One of the chapters in the second book is written by GCologist, Dr Judth Mohring. Dr Judith is a Cambridge-educated doctor, consultant psychiatrist and entrepreneur. She is the founder of ADHDEd and GC Partner, The Natural Psychiatrist focusing on evidence-based ADHD education and the science of wellbeing in action.

This has also led to a really interesting upcoming discussion around neurodiversity, energy and self-awareness.

Dr John Mervyn-Smith will be joined by Dr Judith Mohring for a session exploring the relationship between human energy, ADHD and The GC Index.

The session will explore:

  • The neuroscience of human energy
  • Why ADHD can often feel “tidal” and what that means in day-to-day life
  • The interaction between ADHD and menopause
  • The importance of understanding your neurotype
  • How The GC Index can support self-awareness and understanding, without attempting diagnosis

The session will take place online on Friday 5th June at 1.30pm UK Time. You can book your space via the button below.

Kings College Research: The GC Index and Burnout

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everybody who took part in Phase One of our research project with King's College London exploring female leadership, burnout and Human Energy for Impact.

Led by Dr John Mervyn-Smith alongside King’s College MSc researcher Jessica Winfield, the first phase involved a series of confidential focus groups with female GCologists across the five GC Index proclivities. The quality, openness and honesty of the discussions has been incredibly valuable.

We’re now moving into Phase Two of the research and would really value support from the wider community by completing a short questionnaire, which takes around 15 minutes.

You can access the questionnaire by clicking the button below:

Take part in the 15 minute Leadership Burnout Research Survey Here

The research aims to deepen understanding around how Human Energy for Impact fluctuates over time and how different proclivities may influence vulnerability to burnout. The more responses we receive, the stronger and more meaningful the research becomes.

Jessica and Dr John would be hugely grateful for your support and, of course, we’ll share the findings and insights with the community in due course.

Jessica has even put a short video together for you below.

Jessica Winfield Explains More about the Research

Taken together, these initiatives show how the conversation around Human Energy for Impact continues to evolve beyond the workplace into areas such as Neurodiversity, Wellbeing and Burnout.

We’re proud to be at the forefront of research and discussion in these important areas.

Friday well!

Nathan
