Hello

That word 'collaboration' is always tripping off the tongue in meetings.

"Let's collaborate...!", "We need to focus on collaboration...", "Collaboration is key!"

Collaboration is often defined as "two or more people working together to achieve a shared goal". Sounds straightforward enough.

But just because people are working together nicely doesn’t mean the result is meaningful, effective, or impactful.

Too often, collaboration gets mistaken for momentum. Meetings happen. Ideas fly. Tasks are assigned. But little actually shifts.

At The GC Index, our focus is to empower individuals, teams and organisations to move from just collaboration — to 'Impactful Collaboration'.

As we know there is extensive complementarity across The GC Index proclivities and this provides a framework for Impactful Collaboration in Teams.

For example you could put a few Implementers together and they’ll get things done well, in a timely manner and achieve a result. They are 'collaborating'...

However, are they solving the right problem? Are they aligned to a coherent direction? Are they holding themselves to the highest standards? Is anyone making sure the team is working together effectively?

To make their collaboration more impactful they could be open to:

  • A Game Changer to challenge their thinking.
  • A Strategist to focus direction.
  • A Polisher to refine and improve.
  • A Play Maker to get the best out of everyone.

That’s when collaboration becomes something more. That’s when it leads to real progress and measurable impact.

Don't just take my word for it - if you like Simon Sinek he is of the same opinion.

However, The GC Index is underpinned by science and an applicable framework - not just words -  to help you and your teams make this Sinek quote a reality!

NEW in ChatGCT

Continuing the theme, recently in one of our GC Platform development meetings we discussed how we can make it easier for people to take advantage of this power of Impactful Collaboration within the GC Platform.

Well, developer Rob (high Polisher) has created a functionality within ChatGCT where you can now add people's scores into the prompt box by simply typing the person's name after the @ symbol i.e. @firstname surname.

Try it out...

Head over to ChatGCT and use the @ symbol to quickly include your colleagues’ GC Index scores alongside your own. Ask ChatGCT how your different proclivities can collaborate together to drive greater impact — in seconds.

Thanks Rob for some great polishing!

So the next time you and your team come together, ask yourselves:

Are we just collaborating — or are we collaborating impactfully?

Do good, be great, as always

Nathan
