Hello

One of the things we’ve always said about The GC Index is that it’s not a model that sits on a shelf, it's a language and data that gets used in the real world every day at work, home and society as a whole.

And we’re seeing that real world impact grounded more and more in the world of publishing.

This week, I want to make aware of two new books recently released by GCologists, both including The GC Index and a sneak preview of Dr John Mervyn-Smith's new book.

Humanity’s Edge by GCologist Baiju Solanki

GCologist Baiju Solanki's latest book 'Humanity's Edge' published by Wiley focuses on on self-leadership and accountability in the context of today’s world, particularly with the rise of AI and hybrid working.

What comes through strongly is the emphasis on clarity, self-awareness and authenticity as the foundation for high-performing teams.

There’s a natural connection to The GC Index and Baiju writes about this. When people understand where they have Energy for Impact, it becomes much easier to take ownership, lead themselves, and contribute meaningfully to others.

Baiju brings together academic insight with real-world application in a very accessible way.

Clicking by GCologist Daria Rudnik

GCologist Daria Rudnik's book 'Clicking' published by Thin Leaf Press focuses on a challenge many of you will recognise straight away, teams that aren’t broken, just poorly designed.

Drawing on her background as a former Chief People Officer and ex-Deloitte professional, Daria introduces a practical, repeatable framework to help leaders build stronger, more independent teams that don’t rely on constant intervention.

What’s particularly powerful is how Daria brings The GC Index into this, helping leaders design teams around individuals’ Energy for Impact so that ownership, decision-making and delivery sit in the right places.

It’s a very real shift from managing people to enabling impact and that’s where a lot of the friction she talks about starts to disappear.

A great, practical read for anyone working with teams at scale and has already had early been recognised with a 2026 International Impact Book Award.

19 Books and counting...

Congratulations to both Daria and Baiju for publishing their books I am sure they will make a positive impact to their readers.

More broadly, we now have 19 books that include The GC Index, spanning topics such as business transformation, innovation, change, wellbeing, organisational culture, team performance, entrepreneurship, coaching, education and more!

What’s powerful about that is not just the number, but what it represents a consistent demonstration of the breadth of impact The GC Index is having across different contexts, industries and challenges, all centred around helping people understand and deliver their best impact in their worlds.

That’s before we even get into the academic journals, papers and wider publications where it continues to be applied and explored even further.

and finally...Dr John's Book 2

We’ll also soon be sharing more about a new release closer to home.

Dr John Mervyn-Smith has now released his second book, 'The Psychology and Dynamics of Human Energy – How Understanding Your Energy Can Transform Your World'.

Where his first book focused on how aligning Energy for Impact can transform the workplace, this second book shifts the lens to everyday life helping us understand how we channel our energy to survive and thrive across relationships, families, groups and beyond.

It brings together a range of contributors and perspectives, exploring how human energy shows up in the real world i.e. when it works for us, and when it may hold us back.

We’ll be sharing more around the launch over the coming months, including sessions through the summer.

For now, if you’d like to explore it further click here

I always enjoy writing GCI Friday, but weeks like this even more so.

To now be included in 19 books is a real reflection of the strength of this community and the impact being made across so many different areas.

And there’s more to come!

Together, we can continue to build something that makes a real difference.

Do good. Be great,

Nathan
